Interstate 5 Telecommunications System

Description	Installation of real time video and data collection systems, transmitted to Caltrans' Southern California regional Traffic Operations Center. Project added 16 CCTV's, 41 RMS', 21 TMS's and head end communication equipment. Installation, splicing & testing of 14.40 miles of 72 & 36 strand and 6 miles of 12 strand fiber optic cable. Communications equipment installed in Hub consisted of 18 optical video receivers, 8 optical data modems, 1 video multiplexer and 1 digital cross connect switch. Equipment installed in TMC consisted of a T-1 de-multiplexer and a video de-multiplexer. Conducted a customized hands-on 4 day fiber optic training and maintenance course for 25 Caltrans employees.
